REO is another term you may hear out there, it stands for Real Estate Owned or commonly known as a foreclosure. This is where the mortgage holder or bank has foreclosed on the property and it is assigned to a Realtor to market and sale. Once this takes place the Realtor deals with someone referred to as an asset manager. The asset manager manages the transaction between the Realtor/buyer and the bank or mortgage holder.

HUD which is a government agency and stands for “ Housing and Urban Development” takes a HUD approved Real Estate agency to sale a HUD property.
